Spraycovers

Let me explain what I mean when I write “you get a bit wet anyway”.

On whitewater (that is water with a lot of power / pression in a wild mountain river – see the middle and right-hand-side image on the main page) you must use a spraycover to prevent water getting into the kayak.

Different spraycovers

Since we will paddle on a lake, it is up to you whether you want a spraycover:

  • If you use one, you remain dry inside but you might sweat a lot under the waterproof cover.
  • If you don't use a spraycover, water drops from the paddle will drop into the boat, so you will get wet a little.

So “you get a bit wet anyway” could be rephrased to “either you sweat or get a bit wet”. ;-)
