Preparation seminars Agile Lab 2008b

The preparation seminars take place at:

  • Tuesday, 5th August 2008, 11:00am - 16:00pm and
  • Thursday, 31st July 2008, 11:00am - 16:00pm

in Room N127 ('Neubau', 1st floor, Römerstr. 164, 53117 Bonn)

Both days are compulsory!

Notes

  • Everybody should investigate in these links and resources :!:
  • We have Ruby and Ruby on Rails books in our office A109, Römerstraße 164, 53117 Bonn which you can borrow for your preparation
  • Each topic has to be prepared by two participants
  • Each talk lasts one hour (30 minutes per participant)
  • If you have questions don't hesitate and ask back!
  • Communicate to each other about
    • Who will pair with whom
    • Which pair will assign to which topic
  • A nice overview over Agile / Extreme Programming concepts and techniques can be found here
  • All talks and slides must be held/written in English since this is the only language all participants speak!

  • What is MVC? Explained in the context of Rails (M=ActiveRecord, V=ActionView, C=ActionController)
  • Entity and database management: CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete)
  • Routing (routes.rb file) - this is a very important concept of Rails
