But, if you contact us:

• Make sure that you first worked through the advice below and give us detailed information.
  • Especially: Which step did fail? E.g. “B) 2. did work, but B) 3. failed”
• If you contact us because of SVN problems, let us know your
  • Real name
  • SVN username (it is typically of the form lecturename. family name)
  • Your group number
  • … and the error message you are receiving.

1. Really?
   • Check your spam folder, please.
   • Sender of the mail is the SGA (System Group Altbau).
2. If yes
   • We probably have the wrong email address or no email address at all.
   • Contact one of us so that we can fix or add your email address.

1. Check whether you have the right password and username.
   • Go to https://svn.iai.uni-bonn.de/svn_control/access/login/IAI_Software and try to log in.
     (There is a little bug in this form. If you typed the wrong password, you need to reload the page. Otherwise it will tell you that the password is wrong, even if it isn't.)
   • Once you have successful logged in, you will find a page that tells you that you are in the group atsc.student and atsc.groupXX, where XX stands for the number of your group.
   • If you can't login successfully, contact us to reset your password or to recreate your account.
2. Check the access rights that every student should have.
   • Use a web browser to open the following URLs. You will be asked for your username and password once.
     • https://svn.iai.uni-bonn.de/repos/IAI_Software/se/atsc2013/slides/
     • https://svn.iai.uni-bonn.de/repos/IAI_Software/se/atsc2013/samplesolutions/
   • If you can't access these folders, contact us to correct the rights.
3. Check the access right for your group repository.
   • Use a web browser to open the URLs

     https://svn.iai.uni-bonn.de/repos/IAI_Software/se/atsc2013/groupXX/

     where you replaced XX by your group number (I.e. 07 for group 7 or 14 for group 14).

   • If you can't access these folders, contact us to correct the rights.
4. If there was no problem till here, the problem is probably harder to solve. Check the points below. If they don't solve your problem, contact us.
   (As soon as we learned about other reasons, we might extend this trouble shooting guide.)

Some students report about problems opening the PDFs from the SVN in the browser. In that case you should try to download the PDFs (“save link as…”).

As long as your repository is empty the SVN Repository Exploration perspective might show an error “Authentication error.”, “svn: PROPFIND of '/repos/IAI_Software/se': 403 Forbidden (https://svn.iai.uni-bonn.de)”.

   • Try to share some file into the repository.
   • If that worked, probably everything is ok.
   • Otherwise check the steps above or contact us.
